Who are the West Bay Rams?
West Bay Rams is a non-profit organization offering football and cheer/dance programs to the youths of South San Francisco, Millbrae, San Bruno and Brisbane between the ages of 5-15. The organization is one of approximately 30 associations within the Peninsula Pop Warner Football and Cheer Conference of the national Pop Warner Little Scholars organization.
The objective of Pop Warner Little Scholars, and the mission of West Bay Rams, is to inspire all youth participants "to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness." We hope to teach your children lessons they can carry beyond their football and cheering/dancing days.
Pop Warner Little Scholars is the only national youth sports organization that requires its participants to have and to maintain a certain grade point average (GPA) before they are permitted to play. Pop Warner Little Scholars strongly believes that these standards give the participants a "sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life". A GPA of 2.0 or the equivalent of 70% is considered acceptable to participate. In cases of doubt or conflict of opinion, a written statement by the school administration shall be deemed final.
While Peninsula Pop Warner provides the structure for the football and cheer/dance programs, the success of West Bay Rams and its ability to achieve its goals depends on people, the volunteers on its Board of Directors and Coaching Staff, and most importantly you, the parents. Together, we hope to create a positive experience for all of West Bay's participants.
