Q: When does the season start?
A: The season usually starts on August 1st, or around that date. Once the official date is received, it will be posted on the website.

Q: How long is the season?
A: The season starts in August, and regular season runs through October. For the teams that advance to playoffs, the season will go a couple weeks longer.

Q: When does practice start? What days are practice held and how long are they?
A: The first day of practice is usually August 1st. As in question #1, once the official date is received, it will be posted on website. The first month there is practice Monday through Friday from 6 - 8pm. After school begins, practice is three days a week (6 - 8pm), at the discretion of the head coaches.

Q: When are games played? What time are the games?
A: Games during the season are usually on Sundays, however, there may be a couple games on Saturday. Depending on what team your child is on will determine what time he or she plays. The youngest team (Tiny Mite) plays at 8am, and follows with the older teams starting at 9am in two hour intervals. The oldest team (Midgets) usually play around 5pm.

Q: Where is the game schedule?
A: The game schedule is created in August once Peninsula Pop Warner has a count of the teams in the league. As of right now, we do not have a game schedule. Games are usually played on Sundays and begin the last weekend in August. There will be a game every weekend from the end of August through mid-October.

Q: What is included in the registration fee? What is the deposit for?
A: The registration fee ($275 football, $225 cheer) covers equipment reconditioning, uniform costs, insurance fees per team, D&O insurance, Peninsula Pop Warner fees, National Pop Warner fees, Pop Warner patches, field and facility use, scholastic awards, storage fees, volunteer background check fees, volunteer badge fees, etc.
The deposit fee of $100 that is collected at the time of registration is returned at the end of the season if both requirements are met - 1. issued equipment is returned in good condition; 2. required volunteer hours are completed (10 hours per participant).

Q: Do I need to purchase my own equipment? Uniform?
A: Equipment is issued to each football participant. Items issued are - helmet, shoulder pads, 7-pc pad set, mouthpiece. Uniforms are also issued: practice pants, game jersey, game pants, socks, belt. All items listed will need to be returned at the end of the season except for the mouthpiece and socks. Parents are required to purchase cleats (non-metal), girdle, and any other extra items your child may need.

Q: Where is practice held?
A: Practice is on the lower fields at Capuchino High School (San Bruno). In addition, practice is also held at Belle Air School's (San Bruno) field later in the season.

Q: Where are home games played?
A: Home games are tentatively scheduled to be played at Capuchino High School. This is subject to change, and if it does, our home field will still be in the peninsula area.

Q: How do I get my deposit back?
A: If your participant returns equipment in good condition, and your volunteer hours have been completed, you are eligible to receive a refund of the deposit paid, or roll over your deposit to the following season.

Q: How do I find out what level my child should play on?
A: Please see the age/weight matrix on the Forms & Links page. There are specific age and weight requirements in Pop Warner primarily for safety reasons.

Q: How do I apply to become a Coach or Team Parent?
A: The 2009 Coaching Application will be posted on our website this week, under the Forms & Links page. In addition, each volunteer will need to fill out the 2009 Volunteer Application located on the Forms & Links page. The forms can be submitted in person at any of our signup dates, or mailed to the address on the Contact Us page.

Q: How do you select your Coaches? Team Parents?
A: Applicants for the Head Coach positions will be interviewed by the Executive Board. Decisions will be based on their interview, application, and background check.
Applicants for Assistant Coach and Team Parent positions will also be interviewed if there is more applicants than positions. Those decisions will also be based on their interview, application, and background check.

Q: I am due a refund from last season. Who do I contact?
A: If you completed your hours and returned your equipment, please contact Cathy Lutu at cathylutu@gmail.com regarding your refund.
